More than two million people have now fled Ukraine as Russia's invasion of the country enters its third week.

The United Nations' refugee agency expects that number to swell to 4 million, or nearly 10 per cent of the country's population. 

Images captured by those on the ground paint a story of the plight of Ukrainian women and children who have left life as they know it behind in search of safety outside of their country.
