The Georgia Bulldogs are now 10-0 and are SEC East champions after winning on the road at Mississippi State. Georgia’s 45-19 win over Mississippi State had some bumps in the road and did not go perfectly.
Georgia allowed a punt return for a touchdown to end the first half. That punt return kept Mississippi State in the game for much longer. Quarterback Stetson Bennett threw a pair of interceptions (one to a defensive lineman and another time his arm was hit as he released the football).
Wide receiver Ladd McConkey was fantastic for Georgia. He finished with 141 total yards and two touchdowns. Stetson Bennett finished with 4 total touchdowns and 289 passing yards.
Defensive tackle Jalen Carter had Georgia’s only sack. Safety Malaki Starks and linebacker Jamon Dumas-Johnson both finished with eight total tackles.
Georgia outgained Mississippi State 468 to 308. Additionally, Georgia outscored Mississippi State 28-7 in the second half to clinch a SEC championship game clash against LSU.
