The Oklahoma City Thunder added another lottery talent, Kentucky guard Cason Wallace, to their young core during the 2023 NBA draft.
The Thunder moved up in the draft, acquiring the No. 10 pick and Davis Bertans in a trade with the Dallas Mavericks. The Thunder acquired Wallace with the selection.
Wallace played one season at Kentucky, where the 19-year-old averaged 11.7 points on 44.6% shooting, 4.3 assists and 3.7 rebounds. He also shot 34.6% from 3 on an average of four attempts per game.
In his media availability following his selection, Wallace mentioned how excited he is to join the Thunder and learn from fellow former Kentucky guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
