PHOTOS: Boston vs. Detroit – Celtics survive Pistons 128-122 in overtime

The Boston Celtics hosted the new record-holder for the most consecutive games lost in an NBA regular season in the Detroit Pistons on Thursday night, and nearly ended up on the wrong side of history by taking their opponent too lightly.

But Boston battled back from a deep early hole, and found a way to beat Detroit despite the Pistons forcing overtime, winning 128-122 and avoiding becoming a footnote in the history of Detroit’s historic losing streak. The Celtics were atrocious (28.2%) from deep, out-bounded by 14 boards, and fell into an early 21-point hole, but still found a way to win. It might not have been against a very good team in terms of record, but Detroit is far better of a team than they seem from their record, and the Celtics were lucky to escape with a victory vs. such a determined foe.

Let’s take a look at some of the best moments captured in images in the Celtics’ 30th game of the 2023-24 NBA season vs. the Pistons.
