The Boston Celtics made the trip to Madison Square Garden to face the New York Knicks on Saturday night for the first of seven national TV games. But despite the game being close until the tilt’s second half, it felt more like a relaxed mid-December matchup as Boston cruised to a 116-102 victory.
Boston holding New York to just 34.2 from beyond the arc while going 42.9% from deep and 56.8% from the floor overall played a major role in the Celtics getting the win. As did better ball movement, an 8-to-1 steal ratio and a 7-to-14 turnover in Boston’s favor sealed the deal.
