The Boston Celtics took the floor of Ball Arena to face the Denver Nuggets in what was the biggest remaining games of the NBA’s 2023-24 season. And they nearly fought back from a 12-point deficit to steal a win on the road vs. the reigning NBA champs.
But Boston came up short, losing 115-109 despite a season- (and game-) high 41 points from Jaylen Brown. The Celtics did manage to hold the Nuggets to just 19.0% from beyond the arc, but shot just 28.9% from deep themselves. Add in that Boston went just 16-of-25 from the charity stripe, and it was honestly surprising the Celtics managed to challenge for a win late in the game.
