The Boston Celtics made the trek to North Carolina to face the Charlotte Hornets with the hope of extending their league-leading win streak to 7 games with a win. But the Hornets had other plans on their mind and met Boston with stiff resistance after an early run put Boston up 18.
The Celtics looked gassed and out of sorts, playing far below the level of their hot start to the 2023-24 NBA season, yet still managed to send the contest to overtime before losing 121-118 on a night they shot just 32.0% from 3, lost the assist battle by 10, the rebounding battle by 11, and missed 10 free throws to Charlotte’s 1.
