Phoebe Bridgers’ cover features Maggie Rogers
(Picture: Getty Images)Phoebe Bridgers has re-released her cover of the Goo Goo Dolls’ Iris, featuring Maggie Rogers, this time in aid of an abortion charity.
Bridgers and Rogers first released the cover in November 2020 to celebrate Donald Trump losing the US presidential election. The track was only available from Bandcamp for 24 hours, with fans allowed to pay what they wanted to download it. The proceeds from the song went to Fair Fight, a voting advocacy organisation led by US politician Stacey Abrams.
Now, the singers have released the track a second time – again only for 24 hours – with the proceeds this time benefiting the Brigid Alliance.

The Brigid Alliance is a “referral-based service that provides travel, food, lodging, child care and other logistical support for people seeking abortions”, in the US.
Fans have just hours to purchase the song from Bandcamp, which comes with a high-quality download as well as unlimited streaming on the Bandcamp app.
Bridgers is an advocate for abortion rights and spoke out against the US Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade.
In May, following a leaked report that suggested that the law protecting abortion rights would be overturned, the singer shared on Instagram that she had an abortion.

She said: “I had an abortion in October of last year while I was on tour. I went to Planned Parenthood, where they gave me the abortion pill. It was easy. Everyone deserves that kind of access.”
Then, during her Glastonbury set in June, just hours after the decision to overturn Roe v Wade was confirmed, Bridgers led the crowd in chanting “F*** the Supreme Court!”
She said: “F*** that s***. F*** America. Like, f*** you. All these irrelevant, old m***********s trying to tell us what to do with our f****** bodies.”
