Phoebe Bridgers has told fans how to get over a heartbreak after it was reported the singer had split with Normal People's Paul Mescal.
The singer, 28, and Paul, 26, are said to have called it quits - despite rumours they were engaged.
Speaking on Amelia Dimoldenberg's Chicken Shop Date, Phoebe said moving on from a break-up was 'necessary and inevitable.'
"You just have to do it, and it's going to end at some point, but you can't make it end. That's my thing," she mused.
When asked what she had learnt from heartbreak, Phoebe quipped: "I think if I had figured that out, I wouldn't be making music still."
Paul was spotted for the first time on Friday after it was reported he and Phoebe had broken up.
Currently starring in A Streetcar Named Desire at the Almeida Theatre in London, the actor smoked a cigarette, looking downcast.
Just weeks after Paul was said to have separated from the singer, Phoebe and Bo Burnham had reportedly been seen 'flirting' with one another amid growing speculation the pair are dating.
The friends, who have known each other since 2021, attended Kate Berlant's one-woman comedy show recently and fuelled dating rumours as they sat next to each other in the audience at Connelly Theatre in New York City.
Bo, 32, who was directing the show, is said to have given the Scott Street star his 'undivided and doting attention' after stepping on stage to assist with some technical difficulties.
Meanwhile, Phoebe seemed to reference her reported break-up with Paul in her new song.
Talking about 'standing on my own', the singer's verse on the track includes the American 'screaming' at someone in the Ludlow hotel in Manhattan, New York.
Although she does not reference any names, Phoebe has sparked speculation she is hinting at her reported split from Paul with the emotional lyrics.
She sings: "You said all of my friends are on my payroll / You're not wrong, you're an a–hole / Screaming at you in the Ludlow / I was yours for free."
Fans were in bits when reports of the couple's split surfaced, with one taking to Twitter, saying: "I saw Phoebe Bridgers and Paul Mescal trending on Twitter and was so excited and good god I've never been so shot down in my entire life after clicking their names."
Another wrote: "As both a Phoebe Bridgers and Paul Mescal fan I'm not sure how I will recuperate. I might have to rewatch 'Normal People' and listen to 'Punisher' for the 67th time."
While a third lamented: "Paul Mescal and Phoebe Bridgers split?!?! Oh f**k."
