Phillip Schofield winces as he lets slip plans for Queen's Platinum Jubilee on This Morning

Phillip Schofield was left wincing after letting slip some of the plans for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

The 60-year-old will be joining Julie Etchingham to host the big day for ITV and revealed that he had been privy to some secrets as to what would be happening.

Joined by co-host Holly Willoughby on This Morning, they first discussed the line-up for the People's Pageant.

The 96-year-old royal will be celebrating 70 years on the throne and is the first British monarch to reach this milestone.

Holly said: "Jubilee line-up has been announced, we keep getting teased with these different acts. Basil Brush, singers Ed Sheeran and Sir Cliff Richard are among the national treasures to feature at the Platinum Jubilee's People's Pageant on Sunday June 5.

"So, the Queen is obviously across an awful lot of this - Cliff Richard, Ed Sheeran, Basil Brush! She's a fan!"

But Phil pointed out: "That's for us, surely, not necessarily for Her Majesty."

He added: "I would point you towards the big Sunday broadcast that ITV have announced. We're broadcasting the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebration. I'm actually hosting that with Julie Etchingham - we had our first meeting the other day."

Excited, Holly asked: "Do you know stuff we don't know?"

"I know a lot of stuff! I can just say lots of horses and all of the things that she really does love," Phil teased.

Holly exclaimed: "Hmm! Very exciting!"

But Phil wasn't sure that he had said the right thing as he made a face, remarking: "There you go! I hope that was the right thing to say..."
