Phillip Schofield opened up about his hosting duties of The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebration, celebrating Her Majesty's royal milestone on Sunday night.
During the ITV spectacular commemorating the Queen's 70 years on the throne, the star-studded event saw a range of familiar faces put on a show to celebrate her remarkable milestone.
One of the stars involved in the line-up was Hollywood actor Tom Cruise, who sat down with presenters Phillip and Julie Etchingham.
But during Monday’s instalment of This Morning, Phillip told co-host Holly Willoughby, who returned after a week off to host The Games, about interviewing the Top Gun star live on air.
Phillip described Cruise as a “class act”, but then added: “He caused absolute chaos in Windsor because he decided to walk to the studio.
“So the police then obviously had to do serious crowd control at the drop of a hat, but he met everybody.”
Phillip went on to call him “the most delightful man”, saying: “When he did our interview he then went downstairs and met everybody, went into rooms to meet people and made proper eye contact. He is a class act.”
Phillip managed to get in a selfie with the Mission Impossible star as the pair posed in bowties and spent time in his Winnebago.
Looking at the sweet snap, Holly said: “Look at those two handsome fellas. That’s a great photo.”
During the interview with Cruise on Sunday night, the star shared his admiration for the Queen and her reign, saying it was an "honour" to have been asked to attend.
As the hosts waited for The Queen to make her arrival at Windsor Castle, they questioned the star on his meeting with the Queen's late husband Prince Philip.
The conversation soon turned to Cruise's career and his long list of movies, as well as his latest film Top Gun: Maverick.
The presenters shared a long chat with the acting legend about his movie career, but a number of viewers hit out at the decision and claimed the celebrations had turned into "The Tom Cruise Show".
ITV viewers were left asking for more footage and interviews about the Queen celebrating her remarkable reign.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer fumed: "Isn’t this programme meant to be about the Queen’s Jubilee? So why are we spending 15+ mins talking to Tom Cruise about his movies?!"
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITV Hub.
