Phillip Schofield's This Morning return date confirmed as host takes 'pre-planned' leave

Phillip Schofield This Morning return date has been confirmed, as insiders claim that the presenter's absence was 'pre-planned.'

There wad some surprise amongst regular viewers of the ITV daytime show when, at the end of the programme on Friday, March 24, Alison Hammond told fans that she'd' 'be back on Monday.'

No indication was given at the time, who out of Phillip or Holly Willoughby, Alison would be standing in for, with plenty of viewers assuming Holly would be the one absent as Alison deputised. But, it was then announced by ITV that it was Phillip she'd be replacing. And, rather than just be missing in action for one day, Phillip ended up being off air for the whole of last week; with it then announced that he'd be missing from This Morning for another few weeks, with Holly also taking a break.

Their absence has seen Alison keep her job as main presenter for another week, alongside Dermot O'Leary and Phillip will also be absent next week as well, with insiders revealing he will finally be back in action on Monday, April 17, meaning his absence will stretch to three weeks.

"Phillip is on pre-planned leave and is due to return after the Easter holidays," a TV insider told The Sun.

While it looks likely that Alison and Dermot will continue to front the show next week, some viewers are pushing for a change in personnel, with the likes of Josie Gibson, Craig Doyle and Vernon Kay all backed by fans to get another chance at promotion.
