Phillip Schofield’s This Morning future confirmed after lengthy absence

Phillip Schofield’s This Morning future has been confirmed after lengthy absence away from our screens.

TV favourite Phillip, 61, has not been on air for three weeks but will reportedly return tomorrow.

His initial absence came amid his brother Timothy’s trial for sexually assaulting a teenage boy over a period of three years.

Timothy, 54, was found guilty last Monday and will be sentenced at Bristol Crown Court next month.

Phillip said after the case that he welcomed the guilty verdicts, adding: "As far as I am concerned, I no longer have a brother.”

Phil's return to This Morning comes as his usual co-host Holly reveals she will be absent from the ITV show for at least another week.

Sharing the bad news with her 8.2 million followers, Holly confirmed that she will be missing from the ITV show for a week as she needs to rest amid her illness. "Hi, just to let you know, I may be away for the rest of the week as I have Shingles," Holly wrote.

"I'll be back as soon as I'm better. Huge love," the ITV presenter added.

Holly has been off for two weeks due to the Easter holidays, but fronted the show without Phil for a week.

The first week Holly was joined by Alison Hammond and The Masked Singer star Joel Dommett to host the ITV mid-morning show.

While last week, regular Friday hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary took charge of the show all week whilst Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle stood in too.

However it has now been reported Phil will return to the ITV show.

A source told the The Sun: "Both Phillip and ITV agreed the time was right for his return.

“He is keen for normal life to return, and is very grateful for all the support from colleagues and friends behind the scenes.

It is understood Phillip will be joined by Rochelle Humes this week.

Following his brother's conviction, a lawyer acting on behalf of Phillip shared a statement.

It read: "My overwhelming concern is and has always been for the wellbeing of the victim and his family. I hope that their privacy will now be respected.

"If any crime had ever been confessed to me by my brother, I would have acted immediately to protect the victim and their family.

"These are despicable crimes, and I welcome the guilty verdicts. As far as I am concerned, I no longer have a brother."
