Phillip Schofield shared the last text message he sent to his former best friend and co-presenter Holly Willoughby after quitting ITV.
The 61-year-old sat down for a tell-all interview with the BBC's Amol Rajan on Friday, June 2 after he admitted to having an affair with a younger male colleague. Holly later released a statement saying she felt "hurt" that she had been lied to.
ITV bosses also said that they felt they had been "badly let down" by the presenter. Phillip had previously announced that he had stepped from This Morning after rumours of a feud between them dominated headlines, but following his statement, announced that he was leaving ITV with immediate effect.

He has also been dropped by his talent agency of 35 years YMU. In the interview with the BBC, Amol asked Phillip when the last time he spoke to Holly was.
The former presenter said: "I WhatsApp'ed her on the day I put out the statement. I said that you don't have to reply, you probably can't, but I want to say I'm desperately, desperately sorry."
The journalist then goes on to ask if he received a reply from Holly to which he said "no". Holly was spotted on a family holiday in Portugal amid the fallout from her former co-host's departure from This Morning.
In pictures exclusively obtained by the Mirror, Holly could be seen smiling while sat around a dinner table beside mum Linda. The 42-year-old will be returning to This Morning on Monday, June 5 with relief host Josie Gibson.
The news was announced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary at the end of Friday’s episode during Alison got emotional while discussing Schofield.
