Phillip Schofield has received a healthy sum as compensation after quitting This Morning after 21 years, according to reports.
After making the decision to leave the popular ITV show, Phil is said to be "completely broken" despite reportedly being given a golden handshake of up to six months' pay, which is believed to be more than £300,000.
On Saturday afternoon, Phil announced on social media that he would be parting ways with the programme after a 13-year partnership with Holly Willoughby amid an ongoing 'feud' between the pair.
In his statement there was no mention of co-host Holly despite their long-standing friendship however, Holly praised Phillip in her comment on his departure.
The 61-year-old has presented the show since 2002, where he initially worked alongside Fern Britton before Holly Willoughby replaced her in 2009.
A source told The Sun: "Phil has been given his This Morning wages for six months — but if that was meant to make him feel better, it’s just not working. Phil feels he has been shown zero respect and he is devastated by how this has played out.
"He thinks the way he was forced to step down was so unjust and he feels completely broken by how this situation has been handled. This Morning was Phil’s life and now he feels he has been knifed without proper consultation."
The source added that he spoke to his mum Pat, ex-wife Stephanie and daughters Molly and Ruby before agreeing to leave the show.
Phil's representatives have been contacted for comment.
