Phillip Schofield admits to being 'disappointed' not being in the studio to film This Morning after contracting Covid-19.
The 59-year-old television presenter tested positive for coronavirus last night, leaving him unable to host This Morning alongside Rochelle Humes as Alison Hammond stepped in last minute.
The TV host also confessed he might also have to miss presenting Dancing On Ice with co-star Holly Willoughby, as it's 'cutting it fine' after testing positive yesterday.
As reported by The Mirror, he called into the ITV morning show today, he showed off his positive lateral flow test to Alison and Rochelle, admitting he was disappointed to be missing a busy show today.
Alison and Rochelle asked Phil how he was doing, and he admitted to having mild symptoms with a sore throat, and a slight fever.
Showing off his hoodie, which read "isolation nation", Phil chatted as they discussed what was coming up on the show including Gok Wan's Chinese cookery segment and interviews with Lily James and Sebastian Stan.
Phillip admitted he was disappointed to be missing the programme, especially a segment about Chinese medicine to celebrate Chinese New Year today.
As he wasn't able to be on the show, he sent the producer a picture of his tongue so he could have his own Chinese medicine plan worked on by the show's guest.
He also expressed doubt about appearing on Dancing On Ice this weekend, as he said he was "cutting it a bit fine" given when his Covid test came back as positive.
He confirmed he had contracted the virus in a post on social media last night.
"Well b******s," he wrote at the time over a picture of his lateral flow, "Currently just a slightly sore throat."
Holly has been missing off This Morning as she films a new show for the BBC.
This Morning is on weekdays at 10am on ITV.
