Phillip Schofield shared his first selfie in a year as he showed his support for England in the Euro 2024 final.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday, former This Morning presenter Schofield, 62, uploaded a picture showing him grinning with the red and white England Flag painted on his face as he prepared to watch the men’s football team take on Spain in the finals in Berlin.
While Gareth Southgate’s team were hoping to claim a major trophy for the first time since 1966, it sadly wasn’t to be with England defeated 2-1.
Schofield responded to the final score by posting another picture of himself looking unimpressed - possibly in part because he still would have to scrub the face paint off.
His posts are the first time he has shared a selfie since May 2023 when he resurfaced on social media after a year-long hiatus following his axing from ITV after admitting to having had an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a younger male colleague.
Schofield’s first post following his return to social media showed Alfie watching Lando Norris’ win his first F1 Grand Prix on TV, which he captioned: "Thankfully, Alfie is a big @f1 fan."
It comes amid talk that the shame star could be plotting a return to the silverscreen.
“Never write off Phillip Schofield,” a PR expert told MailOnline earlier this year. “He's making all the right noises and hanging out with his A-List mates. He's rehabilitating and people like an underdog and a comeback story.”
