Phillip Schofield wasted no time in calling out Holly Willoughby for being unprepared for her hosting duties on This Morning. The presenting due were back at the helm of the ITV daytime show on Tuesday (November 15) and Holly quickly admitted she was 'giddy knickers' over their latest guest.
Holly and Phillip were being joined live in the London-based studio by Will Ferrall and Octavia Spencer who were on hand to chat about their new festive film. The Hollywood actors will appear in Spirited, a retelling of Charles Dickens' classic story A Christmas Carol.
Will takes on the role of Ghost of Christmas Present, known as just Present, while Octavia plays Kimberly, the executive vice president at Clint Briggs' workplace, who is the businessman equivalent of Ebenezer Scrooge played by Ryan Reynolds. It is released on AppleTV on Friday (November 18) as well as in cinemas.
And despite it being almost two decades since he starred in probably one of the most famous Christmas films there is, Holly couldn't hide her excitement at having the real-life Buddy the Elf on the famous This Morning sofa. So much so, she almost missed the start of the latest show.
Holly and Phillip kicked off the popular programme today in giggles and as they started to welcome viewers to the latest show, the pair were soon recalling the conversation they had had just moments before they went live on air. "Good morning," Holly declared as Phillip said through his laughter to his co-host: "Are you concentrating today?"
"I'm completely not concentrating," Holly, 41, confirmed as Phillip explained what viewers had missed: "With 20 seconds to go - obviously we get a bit of a warning it's going to happen. Holly's sat on the sofa and we're all having a chat and she says, 'what are we counting to?' Oh, just the start of the show!"
Holly then excitedly revealed that it was all to do with their upcoming guest. "I'm a bit giddy knickers today because we've got Will Ferrell into today," she confessed. "It's elf himself in the studio. Forget elf on the shelf," she added, before Phillip chimed in to add: "It's elf on the sofa," as they both laughed.
Later, Holly and Phil were joined by Will and Octavia on the sofa and following the chat, a still excitable Holly said Will was on of her "heroes" and it appears he lived up to his expectations. After an ad break, Phillip asked Holly: "You alright?" to which she softly said: "Well, weren't they lovely?"
She added: "People say 'don't meet your heroes... I must have seen Elf a gazillion times and all the other films but how lovely were they both? So nice!" Phillip agreed that they were "very, very lovely people in case you were wondering," as Holly added: "Just gorgeous!"
