Phillip Schofield offers distressed This Morning caller getaway amid unhappy marriage

This Morning hosts Phillip Schofield and Rochelle Humes kindly gifted a caller a special getaway after she confessed that she's in an unhappy marriage with her husband - who didn't even wish her a happy birthday today.

The distressed This Morning fan had called in to ask Deirdre advice on her marriage as she confessed that her husband no longer compliments her, and makes no effort whatsoever to talk to her, ask her about her day, or even help with the housework.

As Phillip, Rochelle, and Deirdre all listened to her sad story, they were visibly stunned when the caller went on to admit that she brings her husband breakfast in bed every single morning, and she still doesn't even get a 'thank you' from him.

Even worse, after bringing him his breakfast in bed this morning, he refused to wish his wife a happy birthday.

The distressed caller went on to admit that she no longer gets to go out with her husband as he never wants to do anything.

After hearing her heartbreaking story, Philip decided to kindly take it into his own hands to treat the caller to a birthday gift as he said that he is sending her and friend off on a spa retreat - without her selfish husband.

Given that it was her birthday, he encouraged the caller to ask a friend to tag along with her to the spa to enjoy a weekend away from her difficult home life.

Following the heartwarming segment on This Morning, viewers flocked to Twitter to praise Phillip for his kindness.

"Awwwwh I take back everything I said about Phil haha. So sweet of him to send that woman away. She deserves it," one This Morning viewer tweeted.

"Cute of Phil to gift that lady a weekend away. Her husband sounds EVIL," another echoed.

"I'm going to have to start calling into This Morning with fake scenarios to get free holidays," someone else quipped.

While someone else echoed: "That poor woman. She should leave her husband! She seems so kind and caring it's so sad to hear this happens behind closed doors. Fair play Phil and Rochelle."

This Morning continues tomorrow at 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
