Phillip Schofield has given his thoughts after he and Holly Willoughby couldn't hide their excitement at having Will Ferrall on This Morning. The Hollywood actor was live in the ITV daytime show's studio on Tuesday (November 15).
He was joined by co-star Octavia Spencer to chat about their new film, Spirited. The festive offering is a retelling of Charles Dickens' classic story A Christmas Carol. Will takes on the role of Ghost of Christmas Present, known as just Present.
And Octavia plays Kimberly, the executive vice president at Clint Briggs' workplace, who is the businessman equivalent of Ebenezer Scrooge played by Ryan Reynolds. Prior to their appearance on the famous This Morning sofa, Phillip outed Holly for her lack of concentration as she admitted to being 'giddy knickers'.
"I'm a bit giddy knickers today because we've got Will Ferrell in today," Holly, 41, confessed after Phillip explained to viewers why they opened the show giggling. "It's Elf himself in the studio. Forget elf on the shelf," she added, before Phillip, 60, chimed in to add: "It's elf on the sofa," as they both laughed.
It wasn't long before the film stars were sat opposite Holly and Phillip and being quizzed on their new film, which airs on AppleTV+ and in cinemas on Friday (November 18). But the presenting duo were left in stitches when Will dropped a "testicles" bombshell during the chat.
The Anchorman and Elf actor, 55, was asked what 'famous props' he had kept from his movies over the years. "I have some interesting mementos from some of my films," Will said. "Probably the most valuable one, literally, is from Step Brothers. Prosthetics of sorts..."
After being prompted by Phillip to reveal exactly what it is, confirming it was OK to say the word on air, Will added: "Testicles. The testicles I put on a drum set in the movie and I asked the prop guy, [can I keep them]?"
He made Holly and Phillip giggle further when he added: "I bring them out for dinner parties. I have a little special box to keep them inside."
Following an ad break, Phillip asked Holly: "You alright?" to which she softly said: "Well, weren't they lovely?" She added: "People say 'don't meet your heroes... I must have seen Elf a gazillion times and all the other films but how lovely were they both? So nice!" Phillip agreed that they were "very, very lovely people in case you were wondering," as Holly added: "Just gorgeous!"
And Phillip has now made a bold statement. Posting a picture of him and Holly interviewing Will and Octovaia on Instagram with his millions of followers, the TV star wrote: "When your guests are everything you’d hoped they’d be. Will Ferrell and Octavia Spencer are such fun."
He then took to his Instagram Stories with a picture of himself and Holly alongside Will and Octavia. He typed alongside the cosy snap: "Such lovely guests today," before resharing the image from his main grid and adding: "Will Ferrall has become one of our favourite guests! And Octavia Spencer is a dream too!"
