Phillip Schofield has spoken out in the aftermath of the shock news of his workplace affair.
The former This Morning presenter spoke for the first time in an interview since news broke of his relationship with a much younger male colleague at ITV. Phillip has maintained that the relationship was "unwise but not illegal" amid the controversy.
He spoke to the BBC's Amol Rajan about the fallout from the shock admission and maintained that his former co-presenter Holly Willoughby had not known about the relationship. Rumours had been rife in the build up to the reveal of reported tensions between Phillip and his onscreen partner.

He said: "I have to talk about television in the past tense, which breaks my heart. I have lost everything. I did something very wrong...which I have consistently lied about."
He also expressed concern for the welfare of the man he was involved with, describing him as "vulnerable". Phillip shared he first met the man when he was a teenager but said a sexual relationship only ensued when the man was aged 20.
Phillip also opened up about his mental state following the interview. He revealed his two daughters had not left his side after news of the affair broke.
Phillip officially resigned from ITV last week after admitting to the relationship. He was dropped by his talent agency YMU, where his daughter Molly is currently employed.
This Morning continues to air on ITV following the revelations. Holly Willoughby is currently on leave but is expected to return to the sofa without her former co-host on June 5.
