The footage, recorded at Mahayahay Elementary School in Davao Occidental, shows children standing in formation when strong tremors suddenly begin. Within seconds, panic spreads across the school grounds as students scream in fear and rush to safety while teachers try to maintain order.

Viral Video Shows Panic During Morning Assembly

According to reports shared online, the earthquake hit during the school's flag ceremony on Monday morning. The video shows the ground shaking as students and staff react to the unexpected tremors.

As the shaking intensifies, children can be heard screaming while school personnel quickly implement emergency safety measures. In one of the most alarming moments captured on camera, debris from a roof structure appears to fall as people scramble for cover.

Authorities later suspended classes after conducting safety assessments of the school premises.

Teachers Follow Safety Protocols Amid Chaos

Reports indicate that teachers and school staff immediately activated safety protocols once the earthquake struck. Despite the panic visible in the video, educators worked to guide students to safer areas and ensure everyone was accounted for.

A message accompanying the viral footage stated:

"During the flag ceremony on the first day of classes, the M7.8 earthquake was recorded; teachers and students immediately implemented safety protocols to ensure everyone's safety. Classes were suspended following the safety assessment conducted."
