James Tavernier gets 'a lot of penalties', admits Rangers boss Philippe Clement.
The Belgian manager is just hopeful the right-back continues to slot them home to continue Rangers' success in his tenure.
The skipper struck a penalty in either half of Rangers' 2-0 victory at Livingston.
Ross McCausland went over easily with the score at 0-0 and Steven McLean awarded a spot kick. It looked to be the wrong decision by VAR upheld the on-field official's call.
Tavernier uncharacteristically fired wide of the mark.
Cyriel Dessers would then eventually open the scoring for the visitors at the Tony Macaroni Arena.
But with his second penalty of the afternoon, Tavernier made no mistake when he was given another bite at the cherry as the game edged closer to full-time.
Clement is aware that Rangers get plenty of penalties, but it's all about finishing them off.
He told Rangers TV: "Yes, he scored from the penalty spot but he gets a lot of penalties these days, so I hope in the future we will score even more."
On the international break, he added: "I’m not a fan of it of course because I’d rather keep my team together. The lads who will go away will go to another environment with other ideas, so when they come back they need to bring them back into the story.
"It’s also in another way a moment in which some players can train well but also get a rest. When you play every three days during nine to 10 months, the body dies. We will take this period in the best way to develop players who need it."
McCausland has a bright game and was unlucky to see his impressive finish ruled out after Sima was adjudged to have fouled Cristian Montano in the build-up.
Asked if the 20-year-old impressed, the manager said: "Yes, but he’s still a young lad. With the right mentality, hard work in training and the right focus, I’m also a manager who will give chances to young players if they have done the right things in training. Development of young players is an important part of my job."
