Philippe Clement addresses Igamane passport ordeal: I was not happy, clearly not

Philippe Clement was delighted with Rangers' 2-0 Europa League victory over Malmo this evening (Thursday), but expressed dismay with Hamza Igamane's absence via a passport mishap.

The manager didn't go into the specifics beyond what was already addressed pre-match (that the striker was unable to travel to Sweden with his team-mates for the fixture), however he was asked about the situation by broadcaster TNT.

He said: "I was not happy about that, clearly not. There were issues with his passport. Those are situations you don't want to face as a manager – but I want to focus now on the football and the good things tonight."

One particularly positive note on the night was Nedim Bajrami's opener inside the first minute of the match, after which the attacking midfielder stressed delight in his scope for helping his teammates.

He said: "It was really nice for me to score and to help the team with this goal. I'm really proud to help the team with the goal. I think we had some good pressing with Cyriel (Dessers), and then the ball came to me and I just scored the goal.

"I think Scottish football is a little bit different as I spent the last five years in Italy. Slowly but surely I'm adapting, and I'm really happy to be here with the team."
