Actor Cooper Hoffman has confirmed he is in a relationship with his co-star Nico Parker.

The couple are both second-generation performers – Hoffman, 23, is the son of the late actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Parker, 21, is the daughter of British actress Thandiwe Newton and director Ol Parker.

The two, who starred together in the 2024 film Poetic License, were pictured with their arms around each other at the Toronto International Film Festival last September.

Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, Hoffman said: “We didn’t officially start dating until a few weeks after filming, when she came to New York to meet my mom (costume designer Mimi O’Donnell), and I asked her to be my girlfriend. It was very sweet.”

The couple met on the set of the film, which is the directorial debut of Maude Apatow, who is the daughter of director Judd Apatow and actress Leslie Mann.

Parker began her career with the 2019 film Dumbo and has since appeared in Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy and How To Train Your Dragon.

Hoffman made his film debut in Licorice Pizza in 2021 and had a lead role in the 2025 adaptation of Stephen King’s The Long Walk.

The actor remembered his father in an interview with GQ, saying: “He’s my favorite actor, but he’s also my dad.”

“As much as I would love him to be here and talk to him about acting, I also would be terrified to have him see my stuff and judge my stuff.

“Not that he would judge it, because he was a very empathetic person, and he would probably — hopefully — hold my hand through all of it.”
