Philip Hulme
Philip Hulme founded Computacenter in 1981, alongside former Harvard Business School classmate Peter Ogden.
Within a decade, it had opened Europe’s largest PC outlet and by 2000 - two years after an IPO on the London Stock Exchange - it was worth more than £2 billion before the dot.com crash sent shares tumbling. Hulme - a Conservative Party donor - remains the largest Computacenter shareholder, owning 7.8% of the business.
Besides Computacenter, Ogden and Hulme also co-founded Deallogic, which was sold for $700m in 2014.
Hulme was knighted in 2016 for his philanthropic work, having founded the Hadley Trust which has distributed more than £35 million to good causes.
