Chelsea's new owners have recruited another executive from a Premier League rival, with Manchester United's former media chief Phil Lynch to join the American revolution at Stamford Bridge.
Lynch, whose current title at United is CEO of digital products and experiences, has handed in his notice at Old Trafford and is set to join BlueCo 22, the US consortium which bought Chelsea and French club Strasbourg, as global head of digital.
He is understood to have been placed on gardening leave by United, where he was previously CEO of media.
Lynch is set to focus mainly on Chelsea for BlueCo and is the latest American to join the club, following the likes of chief executive Chris Jurasek and Tottenham commercial boss Todd Kline.
Lynch was involved in a row with ex-United player Gary Neville in 2021, with the high-profile pundit accusing him of "creating robots on off the pitch" after a video emerged of him explaining how the club works with players on social media.
Lynch's departure from United is not thought to be linked to Sir. Jim Ratcliffe's purchase of a 25 per cent stake in the club from the Glazer family.
