A new mural of Manchester City star Phil Foden has appeared in his hometown of Stockport following the club’s recent success.
The 23-year-old midfielder was part of City’s Champions League squad, beating out Inter Milan last week to earn the club the treble. The award, alongside the Premier league and FA Cup trophies, were paraded through Manchester on an open-top bus tour last Monday.
To mark the success, the Stockport footballer has been honoured with a new mural from artist Manchester Murals, who has previously created designs across the city based on Paul O’Grady and Peter Kay.

The mural sits on the edge of Wycliffe Street and George’s Road near Stockport town centre - the same location where a previous mural of Foden was created by the street artist, whose real name is Chris Moore, last year.
The new design was completed on Friday (June 16) after two days of work.
“I’ve wanted to revisit the original piece for some time really,” Chris tells the M.E.N. “With my work improving and with Manchester City winning the treble, I think it just was perfect timing really.
“Mick Kenyon from Paramount Boxing commissioned the piece last year so I got in touch with him to see if I could create a new, updated piece.”
Chris, who went viral with his tribute to Paul O’Grady just days after he passed away in March, said he hoped the new mural would help recognise the impact Foden has had not only on football but in his local area.
“Phil is the perfect example of someone from Stockport who’s on top of the world but doesn’t forget his roots,” Chris explained. “He’s an inspiration to many people and I wanted to recognise that.”
Steven Gerrard recently said he saw Foden becoming one of the best players in England. The former footballer said: "Because for me, he’s going to be the best player in the country. For me, he’s a phenomenal little footballer. He’s got incredible talent, ability, balance."
