(Editor’s note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated Sept. 4 as the date of KSW 74. It has been corrected.)
Phil De Fries has his next title fight booked.
The KSW heavyweight champion will return Sept. 10 at KSW 74 to defend his belt against Ricardo Prasel. Promotion officials informed MMA Junkie of the news Monday.
The bout marks De Fries’ seventh consecutive title defense. The 36-year-old won the KSW belt in 2018 with a TKO win over Michal Andryszak and since has maintained his status as champion. De Fries (21-6) is on an impressive nine-fight winning streak overall. He’s 12-3 since leaving the UFC in 2013.
Meanwhile, Brazil’s Prasel (13-3) is on a two-fight winning streak, with his last victory against former UFC fighter Daniel Omielanczuk. Prasel was featured on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2019 when he suffered a first-round stoppage loss to Don’Tale Mayes.
