Scotland is set to be haunted by everything from phantom pirates and tortured souls to murderous women this month, if a group of supernatural experts are to be believed. The team behind the Paranormal Database created their unique website to catalogue strange incidents, events and locations across the UK, and they've produced a calendar that shows which spooky events reoccur annually across the country.
And it seems that the month of September, and Autumn in particular, is a hotbed of activity, with several hauntings set to take place across Scotland over the next few months.
With both the liminal time of Halloween approaching and Scotland being named the "world's most haunted country" by Edinburgh-based Paranormal Psychologist Evelyn Hollow, it seems fans of the otherworldly are in for a treat.
With that in mind here are the three incidents and locations where spooky going ons are expected to take place this month.
