NEW DELHI: A history was created in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday with S Phangnon Konyak becoming the first woman member from Nagaland to preside over the Upper House.

Konyak, who is the first woman MP from the northeastern state of Nagaland, was nominated to the panel of vice-chairpersons by Rajya Sabha chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar last week.
