PFL to host inaugural pay-per-view event with $6million on the line

Six millionaires will be crowned for the PFL's championship event on November 25, which takes place in New York at the Hulu Theater inside Madison Square Garden.

The headline act of the eight-fight main card sees former two-time champion Kayla Harrison face Larissa Pacheco in a trilogy bout. Harrison, who is also a two-time Olympic gold medalist, outpointed Pacheco in the opening round of the 2019 tournament and beat her in their rematch at the finals in the same year. Pacheco enters the fight on the best run of her career, with her last five wins all coming by first-round knockout.

British featherweight Brendan Loughnane earned himself a spot in the finals by outpointing bitter rival Chris Wade in London last month, securing his first spot in a PFL final. The Mancunian will face wrestling standout Bubba Jenkins in the co-main event of the card after the latter submitted Ryoji Kudo to earn himself a shot at the $1million prize.

Stevie Ray looks to do Scotland proud when he fights Canadian Olivier Aubin-Mercier in the lightweight final on the card. Former UFC veteran Ray was dangerously close of crashing out of the competition after losing his opening contest, but scored two impressive wins over Anthony Pettis to land himself a spot in the finals.

Former UFC star Marlon Moraes, who retired from fighting in April, announced his comeback by signing with the PFL and he will debut against Shane Burgos on the New York card. Moraes and Burgos will meet in a showcase bout that is different from the regular tournament format, so a $1million prize will not be up for grabs.

The event also features the debut of Muhammad Ali's grandson Biaggio Ali Walsh, who put his football and modelling career to one side to pursue MMA full-time earlier this year. Walsh signed an amateur contract with the PFL earlier this month to compete at the finals and will face Tom Graesser in the second fight of the night.

PFL CEO Peter Murray said of the upcoming event: "The stage doesn’t get any bigger than ESPN+ PPV in primetime staged live from New York City at Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden. This special pay-per-view holiday event is stacked with star talent and championship drama as PFL will deliver fans six world title fights with six belts and $6 million on the line."

UK fans can watch the fights on Channel 4 as the broadcaster will air the entire pay-per-view card, with coverage of the event getting underway at 6pm on November 24.
