Experiencing a breakout campaign before suffering an ankle injury that sidelined him a few weeks a year ago, the Cleveland Browns got their money’s worth after extending tight end David Njoku. Still just 26 years old, the best football of his career is ahead of him. PFF, however, does not seem too impressed, ranking the positionless Taysom Hill of the New Orleans Saints as a better tight end than Njoku heading into 2023.
Here is what PFF’s John Kosko had to say about Njoku in his rankings, where the Cleveland tight end fell ninth in the rankings:
“Njoku was given a hefty salary last offseason, and he rewarded the Browns with the best season of his career with a 78.7 receiving grade. His 1.55 yards per route run over the past two seasons is eighth-best at the position, and he has just one fumble over that time frame.”
Still ranked as a top-10 tight end in Kosko’s rankings, Njoku is still a slot or two too low, especially with Hill ahead of him.
