PFF grades: Colts highest graded players on offense vs Broncos

Pro Football Focus has reviewed the tape and handed out their grades from the Indianapolis Colts’ Week 15 performance; which players on offense received the highest marks?

Now, I know what you’re thinking: after that second-half collapse, were there any positive grades? And yes, there were a few.

But before we dive into all of that, I always do like to provide the disclaimer that while PFF’s grading system is very helpful in quantifying performances, this is not the be-all-end-all either when it comes to player evaluation. It is one metric and should be treated as such.

Here is a look at PFF’s grading system to provide some context behind the numbers:

90.0+: Elite
80-89.9: High quality
70-79.9: Good
60-69.9: Above average
50-59.9: Average
40-49.9: Below average
39.9 or less: Poor

TE Kylen Granson

PFF grade: 74.7
Please note, Anthony Gould did receive a grade of 77.1 but played just four offensive snaps.

Granson saw four passes come his way in this game, catching three of them for 47 yards, or an average of 15.7 yards per catch. He did, however, receiving a run-blocking grade of just 47.2, but PFF must have put more weight in Granson’s passing game contributions.

RT Matt Goncalves

PFF grade: 68.9

Starting again at right tackle, Goncalves continues to settle in. He allowed no sacks and three pressures over 47 pass-blocking snaps and performed well in the run game with a grade of 73.6. Goncalves threw a key block in Jonathan Taylor’s 41 yard run that ended in a fumble.

LG Quenton Nelson

PFF grade: 68.8

Nelson was responsible for two sacks in this game and three total pressures. He finished with a so-so run-blocking grade of 64.7 as well–although Taylor did average 7.0 yards per rush on three carries running between Nelson and Danny Pinter.

Honorable Mentions

TE Mo Alie-Cox: 64.8
LT Bernhard Raimann: 62.2
WR Josh Downs: 61.1
