The Indianapolis Colts dropped their Week 12 matchup against the Detroit Lions, and Pro Football Focus has now had the opportunity to review the tape and hand out their individual grades.
So, which Colts players received the highest marks, and which players struggled, according to PFF’s metrics?
But before we dive in, I always want to point out that, whether good or bad, PFF’s metrics aren’t the be-all-end-all when it comes to evaluating a player’s performance. It is helpful because it quantifies it, but this is also just one tool out of many that are out there and should be treated as such.
Here is a look at PFF’s grading system to provide some context behind the numbers:
90.0+: Elite
80-89.9: High quality
70-79.9: Good
60-69.9: Above average
50-59.9: Average
40-49.9: Below average
39.9 or less: Poor

TE Drew Ogletree
PFF grade: 32.5
A rough performance from Ogletree. He had the critical red zone drop that took a touchdown off the board and PFF also didn’t grade him out very well as a blocker either.
DT Raekwon Davis
PFF grade: 35.5
Davis played 21 snaps on Sunday and didn’t record a single stat. No pressures and no tackles for him. For an interior defender there are other ways to make an impact, such as taking on double-teams and eating up space to free up your teammates, but PFF must not have thought too highly of Davis’ performance in that regard either.
LG Quenton Nelson
PFF grade: 36.9
A very uncharacteristic performance from Nelson. For starters, he was penalized three times in this game. He was also responsible for giving up four pressures, and ranked 45th out of 49 guards in PFF’s pass-blocking efficiency metric in Week 12. PFF did grade Nelson out decently in the run game.
