Following the Indianapolis Colts’ performance against the Buffalo Bills, Pro Football Focus has reviewed the game tape and handed out grades.
So, in another good performance from the Indianapolis defense, which defenders received the highest-marks?
But before we get into all that–many of you know where I’m going with this–I do first want to point out that PFF’s grading system, while certainly helpful in quantifying a player’s impact on the game, is not the be-all-end-all. It is one metric out of many that helps evaluate a player’s performance and should be treated as such.
However, having said that, generally speaking, if a player performs well, the grades do reflect that.
Below is a look at PFF’s grading system to provide some context behind the numbers:
90.0+: Elite
80-89.9: High quality
70-79.9: Good
60-69.9: Above average
50-59.9: Average
40-49.9: Below average
39.9 or less: Poor

DT DeForest Buckner
PFF grade: 88.6
Another game, another high-impact performance from Buckner. According to PFF’s metrics, he finished the game with five pressures, along with seven total tackles. The thing about Buckner is that his impact doesn’t only show up on the stat sheet under his name, but his presence helps create opportunities for other defenders as well.
CB Kenny Moore
PFF grade: 78.4
Kenny Moore has been excellent this season for the Colts. In Week 10 specifically, he totaled six tackles, five of which were solo and counted as stops by PFF’s metrics. Then in coverage, Moore allowed only four receptions on eight targets for a grand total of 33 yards, along with recording a very impressive interception.
CB Sam Womack
PFF grade: 72.3
Adding Womack to the roster after cutdowns has turned out to be a huge addition for the Colts, as he has helped provide the secondary with needed stability. On the stat sheet, it was a quiet game for Womack, but that’s good news at cornerback. According to PFF, he wasn’t targeted once the entire game and was in on two tackles.
Honorable Mentions
DT Grover Stewart: 66.4
