PFF gives Raiders grade of A- for offseason work

It certainly hasn’t been a quiet offseason for the Raiders. They’ve made a ton of big moves, including signing one of the best pass rushers of the last decade and trading for the league’s top receiver.

They’ve also signed a ton of veteran free agents, traded away a few veterans (Yannick Ngakoue, Bryan Edwards), and brought in a whole new front office and coaching staff. So what grade would you give the Raiders for all of their offseason moves?

In a recent article by Sam Monson of Pro Football Focus, he graded every team’s offseason so far. The Raiders were praised by Monson for their offseason moves as he gave them a grade of A-.

Here is a snippet of what Monson had to say about their offseason plan and actions:

“The team traded for Davante Adams — the game’s best receiver — to start. Adams has had a 92.0-plus PFF grade in each of the last two seasons while increasing his yard per route run in each of the last six seasons.

Chandler Jones was their other big free agent acquisition, adding a player who has a PFF pass-rushing grade of at least 87.7 in each of his last two healthy seasons.

The Raiders weren’t left with a draft pick before the third round but still managed to come away with Dylan Parham, who could easily start on an offensive line in need of help.”

No matter how you slice it, the Raiders are a significantly improved team over the offseason. They’ve added a ton of talent on both sides of the ball and brought in more depth at positions like linebacker, safety, running back and defensive tackle.

Will it be enough for the Raiders to get back into the playoffs and compete for a Super Bowl? We shall see. But make no mistake about it, the Raiders have had a fantastic offseason so far.
