A range of companies based across the North West have announced a raft of top hires and promotions over the last week.
The likes of Pets at Home, Real Good Food and The British Business Bank are among those to have made major moves.

Pets at Home
A former chief executive of Asda is to join the board of Pets at Home.
Roger Burnley is to become an independent non-executive director from February 14, 2023.
Mr Burnley left Asda in August 2021 after four years as CEO. He was also appointed CBE in the 2022 New Year Honours list for services to the food supply chain.
He had previously spent ten years as an executive director of Sainsbury's before joining Asda as its chief operating officer in 2016.
Glaisyers ETL
Law firm Glaisyers ETL has made a new appointment to its employment team in Manchester.
Jennifer Johnson qualified in 2014 and has specialised in employment law since. She has joined the firm from Co-op Legal Services.
The appointment comes after Nermin Suleman joined the Manchester office from Linder Myers in September.
David Jones, executive partner and head of litigation at Glaisyers ETL, said: "Our litigation and employment practices are growing fast, and demand for both is only going to increase over the economically uncertain months ahead.
"I would like to extend a warm welcome to Nermin and Jennifer, and look forward to working with them as we take advantage of the opportunities we are seeing and continue Glaisyers ETL’s growth story."
Real Good Food
Liverpool-headquartered Real Good Food has appointed Andy Richardson as a non-executive director with effect from January 2023.
He has previously served as chairman of Rubicon Partners, CEO of Arc Specialist Engineering and CEO of Metalrax Group.
Executive chairman Mike Holt said: "On behalf of the board, I am delighted that Andy Richardson is joining Real Good Food.
"We wanted an independent director with transformational change management experience and skills to support the business; Andy's expertise in leading manufacturing transformations is very relevant and I am confident that he will be able to help support the business in successfully delivering on its radical reform programme."
Wain Estates
Warrington-based strategic land, property development and regeneration company Wain Estates has appointed Kirsty Greener as marketing manager.
Her brief is to grow regional and national brand awareness of Wain Estates following its rebranding from HIMOR earlier in 2022.
She said: "There is a positive culture within Wain Estates’ relatively small team where everyone is enthused about exciting plans ahead and where people know they can make a difference.
"This is largely what attracted me to the role and I am looking forward to working as part of a great team which has developed a reputation for its ability to act quickly and decisively across every market sector."
Dark Horse
Manchester-based digital marketing agency Dark Horse has made five new hires.
Henry Smith joins as head of SEO having previously worked at American Golf and webuyanycar.
Sam Bramwell has also been recruited as head of digital PR, Javier Castaneda has been appointed as technical SEO executive, Eliza Tuturman as senior PPC executive and Ethan Lambert as PPC executive.
Managing director John Keating said: "Recruiting has been a focus for this year. At Dark Horse, we only want the best.
"The aim as always, is to create the best SEO, PPC and paid social agency in the country and give our clients everything they need to win big. These new hires reflect that."
The British Business Bank
The British Business Bank has appointed Delyth Edwards to the role of senior manager for the North West.
The move follows her role as business incubation programmes manager at the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC, within UK Research and Innovation).
She said: "Access to finance is vital for smaller businesses to prosper. With the support of British Business Bank funding, businesses can continue to innovate and develop, and I am looking forward to playing my part in that process for businesses across the North West.
"My new role will help support businesses in the region looking to grow access the finance they need to succeed whatever the stage of their development."
Alliance Manchester Business School
Professor Ken McPhail has been announced as the successor to Professor Fiona Devine as head of Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS).
Currently professor of accounting in AMBS, he will move to his new role on August 1, 2023, when current Professor Fiona Devine becomes the vice-president and dean of humanities at The University of Manchester.
Professor McPhail joined the University of Manchester from Melbourne in 2014 in the role of vice dean of social responsibility in the Faculty of Humanities.
From 2017 to 2021, he was director of research, and deputy head of AMBS where he led the business school’s 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF) submission and was involved in bringing the £32m ESRC Productivity Institute to Manchester.
Liverpool Chamber
Liverpool Chamber has made a number of appointments in response to continued membership growth.
Vicky Rooney has joined as events manager, responsible for planning and overseeing a range of chamber events including its annual Innovation in Business Awards, monthly Well Connected networking events, Chamber-Business Networks and a series of engagement, training and wellbeing events.
James Parker has been recruited as a business engagement officer and will work alongside the chamber’s membership and policy teams to understand and respond to the needs of businesses in the Liverpool City Region.
The chamber has also appointed two new apprentices, Ben Kelliher and Richard Waring, who join in the carnet and export documentation teams respectively, working with businesses which wish to explore new markets and trade overseas.
Claimsline
Warrington-based accident management company Claimsline has appointed Andrew Simcott as its new non-executive director.
He was previously a director and shareholder of Michael W Halsall Solicitors and more recently he was the head of business development at Bott and Co solicitors.
He said: "I’m really excited to be joining Claimsline on its journey, as it grows to become a leading player in the accident management industry.
"Claimsline is a great example of a high growth business which has immense potential in changing the way the industry works for the better. It’s great to be part of a team which is at the forefront of innovation within accident management."
Genr8 Developments
Manchester-based Genr8 Developments has appointed Tiffany Chevis as head of marketing. She previously worked at Sigma Capital Group.
She said: "It’s a very exciting time to join the Genr8 team, with partnerships building momentum and a real appetite to build awareness of the impactful work the business does. I’m delighted to be a part of this journey to help Genr8 grow."
Partner Richard Ingham added: "Appointing our first head of marketing comes at a time when Genr8 is looking to the future successes of the business through new projects and our growing partnership with Kajima.
"Having Tiffany on board will help provide a clear sense of direction and purpose, and we look forward to seeing that story unfold."
