A petition has been started on campaign group 38 Degrees in an attempt to stop the energy price cap rise.
Earlier today, August 26, Ofgem confirmed that the energy price cap for October-January will rise by 80 per cent, pushing the average yearly bill to £3549, with a monthly cost of around £295.
It has been met with intense backlash and pleads from financial experts for the UK Government to intervene as studies suggest a half of British households, and three-quarters of Scottish households, will be plunged into fuel poverty this year.
