Peter McGrail maintains perfect record with TKO victory over Alexander Espinoza

Peter McGrail extended his unbeaten run to five fights with a TKO victory over Alexander Espinoza.

The Liverpool-born fighter dominated from the off as he passed his toughest test to date with flying colours. McGrail, as expected, started on the front foot and was landing shots with ease during the opening nine minutes of the contest.

McGrail then dropped the tough Nicaraguan with a peach of a backhand in round four. But to his credit, Espinoza beat the count and continued, although the beating didn't stop.

And it was no surprise that Espinoza, following a tough fifth round, retired on his stool ahead of the sixth round. The 41-year-old had taken a beating and a half.

Speaking in the immediate aftermath, McGrail said: “This was my first time topping a bill and the crowd were unbelievable.

“I thought it was a good performance, it wasn’t 10 out of 10, but overall, I am happy. It was a step-up on paper so I’m happy to get him out of there, because he went 10 rounds with Kash Farooq last year.

“I am overwhelmed by the support and can’t wait for the next one already!”
