Peter Mandelson is at the centre of a public scandal, following revelations of his ties with the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and accusations of misconduct in public office. He was arrested at his Camden home on Monday 23 February and, although later released from his bail conditions, he remains under investigation.
Mandelson was sacked as US ambassador last year, after messages revealed a close relationship with Epstein, while government documents released today (Wednesday 11 March) reveal the disgraced peer was awarded a £75,000 payout when he was dismissed.
