Peter Kay tickets already being resold at extortionate prices on resale sites as millions struggle to get sell-out tickets

Millions have tried and failed to get tickets to Peter Kay's first stand-up tour in more than a decade. And sadly but unsurprisingly tickets are already appearing on resale sites for more than 10 times the face value.

Tickets are quickly selling out on official sites such as Ticketmaster and See Tickets as many are left upset on missing out. But some of those lucky enough to beat the queues and secure a coveted ticket are now trying to profit from this luck.

Ticket's for the opening night on December 2 at the AO Arena are already appearing on website Viagogo for a whopping £707. Tickets were being sold from £35 on the official channels.

Fans took to Twitter to hit out at people reselling the tickets. @bristol_stace wrote: NO!!! Been in a que for #peterkay #peterkaytour tickets since 10am and there are tickets appearing on resale sites for 7x the price already. Shame on them."

@Beezylou added: "Sold out but I can buy from resale sites 4 or 5 x face value! Folk were "limited" to 10 tickets each - what a joke."

@MPhill90 wrote: P****d off the say the least. Waited an hour on @TicketmasterUK for Peter Kay tickets to get through get to not choose my date for it to then put me back in a Q. Coupled with the fact you are able to resell tickets so most people are buying for profit. Whole sale event is a shambles."

And @AARUNDELL tweeted: "This resale needs stoping it’s supposed to be for people who can no longer go not people cashing in , find the tickets and cancel them all."

This is a repeat of what happened after the pre-sale on Thursday (November 10) where tickets were appearing on this site at more than £1,000. Some brazen sellers have also taken to social media to try and flog their tickets for across the UK, again at more than £1,000.

There are official and safe ways to re-sell and buy tickets from other customers. Ticketmaster offer their own re-selling service and it's better to get tickets off a reliable site so there isn't likely to be any issues come the performance date, also the price will be fair and as close to the original price as possible.

Even more dates have been added to the tour to try and match the unprecedented demand, all the way into 2024 for Manchester.

Fellow Greater Manchester comedian Jason Mandford took a pop at those reselling tickets for extortionate prices in a Tweet soon after tickets went on sale at 10am this morning. He said: "Phew lucky enough to get 2x Peter Kay tickets. For sale 2x Peter Kay tickets, £3500 each ono."
