Peter Kay has thanked his fans following his first round of gigs in over a decade. Earlier this year, the 49-year-old comedian announced that he'd be returning to the stage. Last Friday, Kay received a huge standing ovation from fans on the opening night of his massive 110-date tour. He is set to play sold-out shows in Cardiff on June 16 and 17 next year. On Wednesday, December 7, he released a statement on social media and teased a "big announcement". He said: "I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came to the first shows in Manchester. It was incredible to be a part of such a happy experience.
"Everybody deserves a bit of joy. Here's to a lot more in the shows to come! PS. Big announcement Thursday on Sara Cox Drivetime Show just after 6pm," he added, leading many people to speculate what the news entailed.
