Peter Kay treated a fan to lunch on Friday after she was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Laura Nuttall, 22, and her mum, Nicola, were taken for a meal at a restaurant in Lancashire by the comedian before she started more gruelling treatment. The young woman, from Lancashire, had her life turned upside down when she was given just 12 months to live in 2018 due to a stage four brain cancer diagnosis.
However, she has since continued to battle on and is currently undergoing radiotherapy treatment. Nicola took to Twitter to share Peter's kind gesture and to thank him for her daughter's special treat.

She wrote: "Today’s joy has been a very special treat, the most wonderful lunch at @whiteswan_fence with #PeterKay for company. Laughter won’t cure #Glioblastoma but it’s definitely a blimmin’ good distraction for a couple of hours."
Followers were touched by Peter's kindness. Tony wrote: "How awesome is that. Just watched his show on BBC and he’s a comic genius. What’s he like in real life?"
Nicola replied: "The nicest, most thoughtful and naturally hilarious person. Everything you’d hope he’d be. We’re lucky to have him as a friend x"
Another user said: "They should prescribe Peter Kay... He was my next door neighbour for ages!!" Helen added: "My brother had the best laugh and this man made him laugh a lot and loudly. Comedy genius. Glad you had a great time."
It comes after the family received devastating news. On November 2, Nicola tweeted that her heart was "broken".
She wrote: "Bad news I’m afraid. Laura’s tumour has grown back within 2 wks of surgery & moved into new areas of the brain, explaining her headaches. Radiotherapy has been brought forward to Monday but things feel pretty bleak.
"We’re thinking of moving Christmas forward. My heart is broken."
