Peter Andre said he's still waiting for his 'birthday surprise' from his kids Junior and Princess.
The father-of-four turned 50 in February and enjoyed some fun in the sun in Dubai to celebrate.
However on his actual birthday, the Aussie said it was 'refreshingly low-key', revealing he "just did the school runs".
But Pete did push the boat out the night before the big day, treating his family to a fancy Indian meal, which he said was 'better than a having a big party'.
Speaking about his gifts from Junior, 17 and Princess, 16, he said: "I got some lovely presents this year, the main one being our trip to Dubai.
"According to Junior and Princess they are planning to surprise me later this year."
Pete also said the pair "wrote lovely things" in his birthday card, which was "more than any dad could want", reports new! magazine.
Speaking ahead of his sun-kissed trip to Dubai, Pete told us: "I said to Emily, 'all I want to do is go somewhere in the sun with the family.
"'I don't care where we go. I don't want a big party, I don't want anything like that. I just want to get the kids and you and I want to go'."
The singer added: "I just want to go somewhere where it's hot and just get away just a few days just as the family – to me that's the best."
Peter also revealed how the best gift for him would be to go and see his parents in Australia, which he did at the beginning of the year.
"The best present actually is me going see Mum and Dad, which I'm going to do before my birthday, in Australia," he said. "That's the most important thing first."
Pete has revealed his mum Thea's health is sadly deteriorating. After taking his family to Australia in January, the star admitted he was "up and down with emotions" as he spent time with his mum, 86.
Sharing a beautiful montage of pics of the matriarch, Pete wrote: "These last two weeks have meant the world to us. Mum, you have no idea how much we love you and Dad. Debs, Savs and Joe thanks for everything."
Fans loved the heartwarming snaps with many telling the Aussie how pleased they were he'd made the trip to see his mum.
One wrote: "Such beautiful photos, you can see how happy your mum is and the love she has for you all is written all over her face."
While another said: "What a lovely family. So pleased to see your mum looking so happy".
