Peter Andre has spoken of his pride at his son, Junior, after the teen achieved his first number one single.
Over the weekend, Junior Andre, 18, reached the top spot on the official iTunes chart with his song Only One.
And his father, 50, who shot to fame in the Nineties with hits including Mysterious Girl, used his column with OK! to speak about his joy at his son’s achievement.
But the singer, presenter and writer said while it was exciting times for his son, he still had a “long way” to go in terms of his budding musical career.
Andre wrote: “It was a huge weekend in the Andre household as Junior’s new single, Only One, reached No1 on the official iTunes chart.
“It’s still just the beginning and we have a long way to go. He’s worked so hard for this achievement – but that is how you get results.
“It was certainly a surreal moment seeing him on Loose Women in his own right, though.”
It comes after Junior’s mother – glamour model Katie Price – hit out at the Loose Women panellists for their interview with her son on Friday.
Price, 45, ranted about the daytime show after Junior spoke with Kaye Adams, Nadia Sawalha, Judi Love and Jane Moore in his first solo TV interview.
She said the panel clearly “hate her” as they failed to mention her during the interview, despite the fact she was a panellist herself between 2015 and 2018.
Meanwhile, Andre also wrote about his daughter Princess – who he also shares with Price – and her recent appearance at the National Diversity Awards.
He said it made him emotional seeing how grown up she is.
“Princess went to the National Diversity Awards 2023,” he wrote. “She sent me a picture beforehand and showed me her outfit. I’m proud of the young lady she is becoming.
“Even though she’s almost an adult, it still makes me emotional to see how grown up she is already.”
Andre and Price met on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! In 2004. They married in 2005.
They share two children: Junior, who was born in 2005, and Princess, who was born two years later. In 2009, the couple divorced.
Andre is now married to Dr Emily MacDonagh, with whom he shares two other children.
