Peter Andre is set to make his West End debut later this year.
The Mysterious Girl singer announced on ITV's Good Morning Britain this morning that he is set to star in Grease at London's Dominion Theatre from May. He will play radio announcer Vince Fontaine in the show.
Whilst Peter has already toured the country in the show, this will be the first time he has appeared in a "residency" in the West End.
Speaking on the ITV breakfast show today, he said: "It's at the Dominion Theatre. It's Grease I'm in, who doesn't love the film Grease? And to come and see the stage show is amazing.
"Now we've toured this show and it's been incredible, but to be in the West End in one of the biggest theatres. I mean it's a dream come true for anybody, and it's something I've always wanted to do."
He added: "Even though I've dabbled in the West End, this is my first residency, I don't know if the word's residency, but it's my first long stint I've got there and I'm so, so excited!"
Peter joked he would have loved to play the lead part of teenager Danny Zuko, but said he was too old at 48.
He also took to Twitter to confirm the news, as he wrote: "Finally….. West End here I come. Looking forward to this!"
Fans rushed to the comments to reveal they had already booked their tickets for his debut, with one writing: "Opening night booked & ready to rock and roll with you. Mr Vince Fontaine on the decks and he's ready to P.A.R.T.Y! So can't wait to see you in this again!"
Another added: "OMG! That's amazing news! you deserve it so much @MrPeterAndre, love you in this show ! Just so happy for you! xx"
"Brilliant! Grease for me is still (and always will be) the ultimate musical. You will absolute smash it!" a third shared, "Although the fact I’m now taking my teenage kids to see this and you are playing Vince Fontaine instead of Danny - is making me feel slightly old."
The show will run for 26 weeks from May 3rd until October 29th.
