Peter Andre had to reassure his teenage children he hadn't edited a photo of them, causing him to reflect that "sadly" a lot of people don't know how beautiful they are.
The singer shared a photo of Junior, 17, and Princess, 15, at a Halloween event on his Instagram, but the pair mistakenly thought the snap had been altered.
Peter, who also shares Amelia, eight, and Theo five, with his wife Emily, wrote about the incident in his OK! column.
The reality TV star told his fans: "I recently shared a picture of Princess and Junior at the Tulleys Shocktober Fest launch night.
"They both said they loved the photo and asked me what I’d done to it to make it look like that!"
"I had to explain to them I hadn’t edited it in any way. I almost had to convince them they just look amazing and are naturally beautiful children. It was quite sweet actually."
Peter added: "It got me thinking that sadly a lot of people don’t realise how beautiful they are."
The Mysterious Girl singer that he could "never say" pictures shouldn't be touched up, as in the nineties when he started his career, photos of celebs in posters, calendars and magazines were edited.
"But it’s good for people to believe they look great the way they are," he reflected.
Peter is known for sharing his wisdom from years of showbiz with his two eldest children, who he shares with his ex-wife Katie Price.
Recently, Princess has been carving out a career for herself as an influencer on Instagram but her dad had to step in last month when cruel trolls accused the teenager of editing her snaps.
Princess was forced to deny she had been photoshopping her recent holiday snaps, telling her followers: "For the people commenting about the photo apparently being edited you can quite clearly see that it’s my hair and not the tiles."
Doting dad Peter quickly jumped to his daughter's defence in the comment section of her Instagram update, telling his child: "sweetheart don’t get into the habit of worrying about what people say. Be you’re beautiful self and enjoy life."
Writing his new! magazine column a few days later, the dad-of-four offered some more thoughts about his daughter's online activity and why he felt compelled to comment, as he shared his words of wisdom for Princess and anyone else experience trolling on social media.
"But when I saw someone accusing her of editing one of her pictures, and she replied, my comment was basically not to get into the habit of worrying about what people say. And this applies to everyone," the reality TV star added. "Just be your beautiful self and enjoy life."
He concluded by saying: "I just don't want her to get into the habit of worrying about trolls, because if you do it can be a downward spiral."
