Peter Andre has opened up about a terrifying racist incident he experienced when someone pulled a knife on him during his time living in Australia.
Peter, 48, revealed his exciting plans to reunite with his Australian family members after two long years apart, but also recalled a terrifying moment he once experienced.
The dad-of-four was left traumatised by the ordeal as he was scared to return to nightclubs until he was in his 30s.
He says racist thugs brandishing a weapon had threatened to finish him "there and then" during a night out in Sydney.
The Mysterious Girl singer, of Cypriot descent, admitted that when eventually he felt comfortable enough to return to clubs, he would still feel "very wary and uncomfortable" during his nights out, as reported in The Mirror.
Recalling the traumatic incident in his column for new! magazine, the star looked back on his incredible career highlights from over the past 30 years, while also touching on some of the hard times too.
"When asked about the bullying and racism that I and my siblings suffered as kids in Australia, I recalled a horrific incident in a nightclub in Sydney," Peter explained.
"A group of guys cornered me and one of them put a knife to my throat and threatened to finish me there and then."
He continued: "That night really scared me and put me off going to places like clubs for a while.
"I did go to them again in my thirties, but I always felt very wary and uncomfortable."
Peter has previously opened up about some of the horrific racist abuse he was subjected to during his childhood in Australia.
Speaking on the YouTube series Life With The Andres in July 2020, he confessed even some teachers would call him racist names as a kid.
"We suffered racism bad as kids and called greasy wogs. I was beaten quite a few times from kids at the school," the singer recalled when chatting with his brother Danny Andre.
He added: "To this day I don’t wear my hair curly purely because when I look in the mirror I see what those kids used to call me, even now at 47 years old. You'd think I'd be over it."
Speaking in his column last year, he admitted life Down Under was tempting him after reports circulated that Kylie Minogue was returning her home country in October 2021 after 30 years in the UK.
However, the doting dad explained that moving wouldn't be an "easy thing" due to his children and their possible future plans.
The singer has four children; Theo, 5, and Amelia, 7, whom he shares with wife Emily Andre, and Junior, 16, and Princess, 14, from a previous marriage.
Peter wrote how any decision he made about his future living plans would be dependent on his offspring's lifestyles and where they wanted to live.
