Peter Andre attempted to stop daughter Princess from dating before his wife Emily came to the teen's rescue.
Protective and proud dad Peter has admitted he wasn't willing to let boys be around his 15-year-old.
While Peter has been happy to let son Junior, 17, have girlfriends - he took a different view on Princess dating.
However, the singer has been put in his place by his wife Emily, who told him you can't have one rule for another and not another.
Princess celebrated her birthday last week and her dad still has concerns as she grows up.
He paid a touching tribute on her big day - then warned the teenager that she won't ever have permission to go on Love Island.
Writing in his weekly new! magazine column, singer Pete, 49, says Emily has made him see things differently.
The star, also dad to Amelia, eight and Theo, five, says he used to have different rules for his eldest children.
He said: "We don’t ever really argue but we don’t agree on everything – but one thing I love is that we always talk it through then hug it out. I have to admit I’m always learning from Emily, but I don’t know if she ever learns from me!
"One of the things she taught me was very early on, when Princess and Junior were younger. I’d say Junior could do this and that, and Princess had to be a nun and could never have a boyfriend.
"Emily taught me that whatever rule I gave to Junior, I had to treat all the other children the same and she has made me look at things differently and change my old-school mentality."
But if Princess is already eyeing up a stint on Love Island, it looks as if she can forget it.
Last week he left a cute but also cutting message as she turned 15 with some great photos of them together as a family.
Alongside the compilation, he wrote in the post: "Happy 15th birthday to my kind, loving, moody and caring daughter.
"You bring so much life to our home. We all love you so much."
He added: "You're beautiful inside and out just the way you are and never forget that."
He concluded by writing: "Happy birthday and NO you can't go on Love Island. Love dad."
He said in his OK! column earlier this month: "I have to say I feel every inch of pain Michael Owen must be going through seeing his daughter Gemma Owen on Love Island."
The singer added: "Don't get me wrong, it's a great show but it's not exactly ideal as a dad, is it?" He suggested he has warned his eldest kids against being contestants on it."
